To keep your airbrush t-shirt looking fresh!
Always wash it inside out in cold water with a mild detergent. Never use bleach or fabric softeners, as they break down the paint. Hang dry your shirt or use a no-heat tumble cycle in the dryer.
Steps for Long-Lasting Shirts: Wait to wash: Let the new shirt sit for at least 5 days so the paint fully cures.
Prep the wash: Turn the shirt inside out. This prevents the painted image from rubbing off on other clothes.
Select the cycle: Set your machine to the delicate cycle using cold water only. Use gentle soap: Choose a mild, eco-friendly soap. Harsh chemicals or OxiClean will fade your art. Stop color bleeds: Toss in a color-catcher sheet like a Carbona Color Grabber to catch loose dye.
Dry carefully: Hang dry the shirt in the shade. Or, tumble dry on the lowest heat setting and remove it right away.
How to Iron an Airbrushed Shirt: If the shirt gets wrinkled, turn it inside out to iron. Never touch the hot iron directly to the airbrush paint. If you must iron the front, place a thin piece of parchment paper or a thin cotton cloth directly over the painted design to protect it.
